The semantic catalog is a digital working tool for public authorities and institutions, autonomous administrative authorities, which hold state information resources, as well as for legal persons under private law which, on behalf of public authorities and institutions, manage or hold state information resources.
The catalog ensures the unification and standardization of definitions and classifiers, a unique description of data structures, the reuse of this data and the facilitation of interaction on the MConnect interoperability platform.
The implementation of the Semantic Catalog allows the automation of the management of semantic assets and the access to them, using IT mechanisms, which leads to the impetus of the specific processes of data exchange and contributes to the optimization of data collection and storage.
The e-Government Agency is designated as the competent authority for ensuring the exchange of data and interoperability through the interoperability platform and is carried out on the basis of semantic assets registered in the Semantic Catalog established by the Government. In this regard, the AGE manages the Semantic Catalog by identifying, registering, publishing, updating and disposing of semantic assets.
