Document on crossing the state border of the Republic of Moldova available in digital format
Citizens can now access a new electronic service – Issuance of the extract from the integrated information system of the Border Police on crossing the state border of the Republic of Moldova, developed by the e-Governance Agency (EGA) in collaboration with the General Inspectorate of the Border Police (GIBP).
The digitization of this public service is an important step in the modernization and improving the efficiency of administrative activities and provides citizens with the possibility to obtain online the extract on the crossing of the state border of the Republic of Moldova. Also, the implementation of the new electronic service ensures that the requested document is obtained quickly and significantly reduces waiting time, thus contributing to facilitating access to public services.
The extract from the integrated information system of the Border Police regarding the crossing of the state border can be requested by both natural and legal persons, with or without digital authentication.
Just a few online steps are all it takes to apply for the extract:
- Go to the Public Services Portal at https://servicii.gov.md
- Select the service Extras from the integrated information system of the Border Police https://servicii.gov.md/ro/service/021001121 and activate the “Request” button
- After clicking on the button, you will be automatically redirected to the application page available at https://eservicii.gov.md/mai/igpf/cerere
- Fill in the fields with the required information and follow the corresponding instructions.
There are two ways to receive the document:
- Persons who have an electronic signature have the possibility to receive the extract in digital format via the portal mcabinet.gov.md.
- Applicants who do not have a valid electronic signature can pick up the document on paper at the GIBP headquarters in mun. Chisinau, as well as at the Regional Directorates of the GIBP located in the municipalities of Edinet and Cahul, and in the cities of Stefan Voda and Ungheni.
Until the digitization of the public service Issuance of the extract from the integrated information system of the Border Police, the application was to be signed in holograph and submitted in person by the applicant exclusively at the headquarters of the GIBP (mun. Chisinau, Petricani str., 19). The document was also issued only in paper form, in person to the applicant (on the basis of the identity document) or his/her representative (on presentation of the original power of attorney authenticated in the prescribed manner), exclusively at the GIBP headquarters in Chisinau.
Also, previously, this service could not be paid online via MPay, but only at the bank. Therefore, thanks to its digitalization, applicants’ expenses have been reduced, since the payment of public services through mpay.gov.md does not imply additional costs or fees for the beneficiary.
The process of issuing the extract from the integrated information system of the Border Police was digitalized within the project “Modernization of Government Services”, implemented by EGA with the financial support of the World Bank Group. The new electronic service will streamline the work of the GIBP by optimizing the bureaucratic processes applied when examining applications and issuing the respective extracts, as well as providing the possibility to direct the saved resources to other essential activities of the Border Police, including the performance of control and security of the state border of the Republic of Moldova.
According to statistical data, in the first six months of this year, more than 2200 applications regarding the crossing of the state border by individuals and means of transportation were examined.
