As of June 7^th, 2024, criminal records can be obtained by citizens in one of the 24 official languages of the European Union via the Public Services Portal – https://servicii.gov.md. The new functionality completes the series of digital options developed by the Electronic Governance Agency and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Thereby, beneficiaries of this service are exempted from the additional costs of having their criminal record officially translated, being able to request online, apostille and deliver the document to any country in the world via the MDelivery Government Delivery Service.

As a reminder, in 2023 was launched the option to online request the service of issuing criminal, misdemeanour and detailed criminal records, with delivery to the requested place of the result of providing the ordered service, including at the international level. Digital services, provided for both individuals and legal entities, by default are delivered to the personal office of the citizen or law establishments – https://mcabinet.gov.md, providing security and protection of the applicant’s personal data.

At the same time, each issued document contains a QR code, which upon scanning displays the original criminal record issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, thus limiting attempts to falsify or distort the content of the document. Also, the authenticity of the signature affixed to the criminal record can be verified at any time by accessing the MSign Governmental Electronic Signature Service - https://msign.gov.md.

Public service - Criminal / misdemeanour / detailed criminal record for individuals and legal entities - is one of the most requested services, available in digital format, accessed by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova via the Public Services Portal.
