MOLDOVA DIGITAL SUMMIT: PUBLIC SERVICES IN DIGITAL FORMAT - AVAILABLE IN THE EXPO AREA DEDICATED TO GOVERNMENT DIGITIZATION

2024-06-06 09:04

The first day of the biggest digital event in the region - the Moldova Digital Summit brought to the three stages government officials, high-profile international guests, world-renowned speakers, business leaders, development partners and people interested in digital transformation and promoting a digital economy.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to connect and exchange experiences with other professionals, learn about entrepreneurs' success stories, learn about the latest trends in the field, and learn all the relevant information about the digitization of public services in our country.

Andrei Prisacar, Director of the e-Governance Agency: "At the Government stand we provide digital solutions such as the EVO mobile app - which brings all digital services and digital documents just a click away. When we want to use this app, we need a digital identity, which you can get just with your ID card, directly at the event. Out of 650 digital services, for entrepreneurs we have around 60 percent digital services, and for citizens - over 50 percent of services are digitised. We aim to have a digital State by 2030, with all digital services in one place - in the EVO App."

At this year's edition, an EXPO area was set up dedicated to digital innovations offered by government agencies, international companies, academia and start-ups.

The "Digitalization in GOV" exhibition booth, set up in the EXPO area with the support of the World Bank Group, within the framework of the "Modernizing Government Services" Project, offers participants the opportunity to learn about government digital platforms and services, get electronic signatures, on stick or mobile, directly from providers. Another opportunity for attendees was the testing of EVO - the first integrated government application for citizens' interaction with the State and access to public services, launched for public access. Attendees directly tested the services offered through the EVO mobile app such as personal data, digital documents, payments, public services, as well as powers of attorney and authorisations.

Dedicated workshops were also held at the summit, where several international professionals presented their experiences. Those attending the event had the opportunity to learn more about cybersecurity, collaboration and investment opportunities, as well as the latest trends in digitalisation.

The Moldova Digital Summit continues on June 7th. On the second day of the event, topics such as e-governance, Artificial Intelligence, digital skills and the impact of civil society organisations' involvement in advancing digital transformation activities in Moldova will be addressed.

This event is organized under the aegis of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization jointly with the National Association of ICT Companies (ATIC), e-Governance Agency, Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), Invest Moldova Agency, Technovator, Startup Moldova, Technical University of Moldova and Tekwill, with strategic and financial support from the World Bank Group, German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Technologies of the Future Project funded by USAID, Sweden and UK, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Moldova, Western NIS Entreprise Fund, OPTIM Project, supported by Switzerland and Helvetas.
