The e-APL portal concept developed by the e-Governance Agency in support of local public authorities was presented by Igor Bercu, Head of the Digital Platforms Department, at the fifth edition of the 2024 International Mayors Summit, held for the first time in the Republic of Moldova on April 11^th, 2024.

Over 400 participants, including mayors, local and central public authorities, local and international leaders, civil society actors and businesses from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, the European Union and the USA, gathered to discuss innovations and best practices in local community development.

In his presentation, Igor Bercu spoke about the e-governance infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova, created during 14 years of modernisation of the public sector through digital transformation, which now serves as a solid foundation for the development of new digital solutions in various spheres, including local public administration. Forum participants also learned about the work of the Unified Public Service Centres, opened in 100 rural localities, within the Modernization of Government Services Project (MGSP), implemented by the e-Governance Agency with the support of the World Bank Group.

The event was organised by the Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) in collaboration with Primăria Mea (My Mayoralty), Community Plus, CIPE and Cities4Cities United4Ukraine and was a good opportunity to share good practices from different cities and countries and to connect relevant authorities and actors for future joint projects.
