EGA AND ATIC PARTNERSHIP – DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND PROSPECTS FOR WOMEN

The women from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine will be trained how to use the governmental digital solutions developed in the Republic of Moldova. The Cooperation Agreement signed by the National Association of ICT Companies (ATIC) and the public institution „e-Governance Agency” (EGA) today, March 28, 2023 provides a framework for cooperation towards supporting refugee women and girls from Ukraine, women and girls survivors of gender violence and at risk from the rural areas of the Republic of Moldova, interested in finding a job or in professional and entrepreneurship development in the ICT industry.

The agreement signed electronically by Olga Tumuruc, the director of EGA, and Ana Chirita, the Strategic Projects director at ATIC, provides for a number of joint activities aimed at empowering refugee women from Ukraine and women from the Republic of Moldova and equip them with knowledge and skills related to advanced marketing techniques, the use of digital tools (e-services, e-comert, online marketing), social and online networks, efficient market research, market positioning and ways to increase the entrepreneurial presence on social networks to develop small businesses and make a profit.

The objectives of the cooperation between the two signatory parties are:  

-       development of the digital skills of the above mentioned groups of women;

-       supporting women to embrace ICT careers;

-       promoting the digital public services;

-       increased use of electronic governance solutions by the citizens and residents of the Republic of Moldova;

-       strengthening the knowledge of project beneficiaries to enable them to earn money as ICT specialists and/or businesswomen;

-       supporting the digitalization of education by aligning to the STEM priorities of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

With the support of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, EGA and ATIC will jointly:

-       identify the beneficiaries in at least five rayons of the Republic of Moldova;

-       train at least 200 Moldovan women;

-       provide support and assistance to women in finding jobs, including by developing their digital skills;

-       hold meetings with the private sector to create internship opportunities in the ICT industry for women;

-       hold networking events to identify solutions to integrate refugees in society and empower them to use their rights;

-       implement support programs for refugee children by organizing extra-curricular courses in programming and artificial intelligence, and create Digital Laboratories with modern technologies, study rooms and well-trained teachers.

The beneficiaries will be informed about project opportunities, including through the governmental platform https://dopomoga.gov.md – an important information resource for the refugees from Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova.
