9 December 2022, Chisinau - The e-Governance Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration announce the launch of the piloting of the first national portal of appointments for consular services provided in diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad.

The portal programari.gov.md offers Moldovans living abroad the possibility to make fast and convenient appointments for any available service at the nearest diplomatic mission.

At the first stage of piloting, appointments will be available for 13 locations, which will be gradually extended to the entire network of Moldovan consular offices. To make an appointment, the applicant will enter some identifiers, such as name, surname, IDNP, place of residence, contact phone, e-mail address, will select the type of service, the date and time of the appointment. The result will be sent to the applicant's e-mail address for confirmation. The system offers the possibility of scheduling family members by adding other beneficiaries.

The service is absolutely free, personalized and is available 24 hours a day. Appointments may be made at least one day before the date of visit to the diplomatic mission or consular office. For the convenience of citizens and testing of the portal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration encourages prior appointments as a useful tool for a good organization of the flow of persons. Comments for the platform improvement can be sent through the specialized form available on the website.

The portal for consular appointments was created by the e-Governance Agency for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

The online appointment service is available starting with December at the Moldovan Embassies in Hungary, China, Azerbaijan, Swiss Confederation, Turkey, Lithuania, Austria, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Poland, Bulgaria, the Istanbul Consulate, and Moldova's Permanent Mission to the UN Office in Geneva.
