Government e-Payment Service MPay is growing exponentially [3]
Convenience, accessibility, optimization of costs and resources remain the key elements in the creation and development of products and services by the e-Governance Agency (EGA). The same principles were also valid for the creation of the Government e-Payment Service MPay.
Since its launch in 2013, the MPay service has been growing steadily. Thus, over 18 million transactions were made through the Government Electronic Payment Service, while the annual growth was more than 1 million transactions. EGA specialists talk about a tenfold growth prospect after the implementation of the new functionalities of this service.
Today, the traditional Live event within the Communication Campaign "10 years of e-Governance in the Republic of Moldova" was dedicated to the MPay service. During the event, EGA specialists, Dumitru Postu, Project Manager, Andrei Prisacar, Head of Department for Smart Investments in Digital Governance and Vadim Vintila, Legal Consultant, touched upon the new legal framework for the operation of the MPay service and its new elements.
According to EGA specialists, MPay is a secure solution for the collection of payments for public services that currently amount to 647 paid services of 60 paid service providers connected with other 14 paid service providers (banks, SE Posta Moldovei, payment terminals).
The e-Governance Agency brings news in the functionality of this service, and namely: introduction of the distribution of payments through MPay, refunding of payments, a unified format for QR codes and the solution for generating and applying QR on bills. Also, soon, the MPay service will offer the option of payment for communal services.
By accessing the platform www.mpay.gov.md [6], citizens can make various payments, while saving time, using advanced technologies, as well as being able to avoid the pandemic related risks.
