New for business: the certificate of attestation as VAT payer can now be ordered and obtained in MCabinet!
Business representatives can access a new electronic service - the VAT Payer Attestation Certificate, which can be requested and obtained online from the MCabinet law portal. The service was developed by the e-Governance Agency (EGA) in cooperation with the State Tax Service (SFS) and represents an important step in modernizing and streamlining administrative activities in order to provide the business environment with the possibility to obtain the certificate online through the state information systems.
Also, the implementation of the new electronic service ensures that the requested document is obtained quickly and significantly reduces waiting time, thus contributing to facilitating access to public services.
Only a few online steps are needed to request the document:
- Log in to the Portal of law entities https://mcabinet.gov.md, as a legal entity.
- Select the Legal entity details, Economic activities section.
- The system will check whether or not the legal entity is a VAT payer.
- If yes, the button Request Certificate of attestation as VAT payer will become available under the selected activity.
- Subsequently, the document will be available in the My Files from MCabinet section.
- The certificate will contain information about the issuing authority, the number and date of issue, as well as data about the legal entity.
- The certificate is issued free of charge for a period of one calendar year from the date of issue.
The authenticity of the electronically generated Certificate can be verified by scanning the QR code on the document.
Until the digitization of the service, the Certificate was signed holographically when the applicant submitted the application in person at the STS only or by email (application signed holographically and scanned or signed electronically), and the document was issued within three days, in paper only, in person to the applicant (on the basis of the identity document) or his/her representative (on presentation of the original power of attorney authenticated in the prescribed manner).
The service was digitized with the financial support of the World Bank Group, within the framework of the Project “Modernization of Government Services” - MGSP.
EGA constantly promotes the modernization of the public sector, through digitalization and automation of processes, in order to facilitate citizens’ access to state services.
