TAX MODERNIZATION VIA TECHNOLOGY: OPPORTUNITIES OF DIGITAL GOVERNANCE SOLUTIONS
A group of 40 tax inspectors attended a training course, organized by the Electronic Governance Agency (EGA), to learn about new digital governance solutions that can be used to modernize and streamline tax processes.
During the two-day programme, the main aim was to familiarize participants with the functionalities of the digital platforms developed by EGA, the practical ways in which they connect citizens and business environment with the State administration, as well as the EVO application, highlighting its benefit and impact on operational efficiency and improved services to taxpayers.
Training sessions included interactive presentations, case studies and practical demonstrations, including simulations of real cases, giving tax inspectors the opportunity to directly apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations and find optimal solutions.
Thereby, representatives of the State Tax Service (STS) practiced on the modules available based on the electronic signature, such as My Documents (presenting and verifying them in the application), Electronic Payments, Health, Powers of Attorney (MPower), Appointments, but also explored a number of other governmental digital platforms and services such as MPass authentication service, electronic signature and identity (MSign), virtual personal cabinet (MCabinet), document delivery (MDelivery), etc.
In the same vein, the participants were encouraged to present their experience and provide feedback to the trainers to ensure a full understanding and to tailor the training to the specific needs of their professional work. The expectation being that each tax inspector will be able to effectively apply the knowledge acquired in the context of their own responsibilities.
We note, EGA is continuing the Training Programme on New Digital Governance Solutions, aimed at providing informational and technical support to public and private authorities and institutions to better implement digital governance products in providing services to citizens and entrepreneurs.
