DRIVING SCHOOLS IN MOLDOVA – IN A SINGLE DIGITAL REGISTRY
The Digital Registry of Driver Education Facilities and Trainees was launched in Moldova. The new electronic registry is an information system developed by the E-Governance Agency in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research and represents a single platform for digital management of the information on the driver education facilities. The Registry provides an accessible and secured environment for registration and verification of trainees and for recordkeeping of the examination results.
The Registry will keep record of data on the process of education of trainees for obtaining the driver’s license; will automate data transfer among the institutions participating in the education process and in issuing licenses for drivers; analyse and develop performance indicators; contains tools to control document flow and reporting facilities. All of these will contribute to increasing efficiency and transparency in the field of drivers’ education.
Individuals who want to obtain the driving license will be able to access data on accredited driving schools at scoliauto.gov.md and to apply online for available education programs. The system will allow the Agency for Public Services to retrieve through MConnect data on the persons who have successfully taken the internal school exams and register them electronically for the external driving examination.
The new electronic solution is developed within the project “Modernization of Government Services” implemented by EGA with the support of the World Bank Group. The costs for the development and implementation of the Registry of Driver Education Facilities and Trainees represent 2.3 million MDL (133 200 $), including system maintenance.
The public website of the Registry of Driver Education Facilities and Trainees can be accessed here: scoliauto.gov.md.
