DIGITAL MOLDOVA: INNOVATIONS FOR GENERATIONS – AN AWARENESS-RAISING AND DIGITAL LITERACY CAMPAIGN

The e-Governance Agency launched today, 12 July 2022, a communication campaign aimed to actively inform the population and enhance digital literacy of many categories of people to include young and old persons, natural and legal persons, Moldovan citizens in the country and abroad. The current and future strategic partners of digital governance, e-Ambassadors, journalists, volunteers, and youth centres’ members, trainers and all categories of citizens for whom electronic services were created, would be informed about the newest tools, platforms and digital governance services made available to all to ensure remote interaction with state entities through the use of technology.

 

The campaign motto is “Digital Moldova: Innovations for Generations”, which will be widely promoted amongst the population – representatives of different generations, whereas the message concerning the electronic governance benefits will be disseminated through various Media outlets to reach out to every person and house.

 

The campaign goal is to raise people’s awareness and digital literacy, develop the information society, promote the Republic of Moldova image as a digitally advanced country, which is able to export digital governance outputs and share its experience and best practices with other countries from the region.

 

The campaign objectives are as follows: Launching a single digital identity both nationally and internationally, which would unify and represent the whole range of electronic services developed in the Republic of Moldova – a digitally competitive country; Launching new digital governance products; Promoting topical digital services; Expanding the number of active users of electronic services; Developing and strengthening partnerships both locally and internationally; Fostering the digital transformation of the whole society; Building society awareness concerning the e-Governance benefits; and Enhancing work transparency of the institution.

 

The campaign message andencouragement to be made available to the public at large through communication and awareness-raising events is to build together a prosperous, competitive Digital Moldova that is recognised and integrated in the Community of European States and has got a great development and innovation capacity based on ICT.

 

Many offline and online activities will be conducted throughout three months as public events to launch new digital services such as: MobiSign – Government’s electronic authentication and mobile electronic signature service; MDelivery – Government’s document delivery service; briefing sessions for volunteers and e-ambassadors; workshops to develop the digital skills of future trainers in the e-Governance area; Media tour for journalists and members of the Press Club for Digital Transformation, networking, hackathon, open-doors, trainings for diplomatic mission representatives, etc. Likewise, during the Campaign, EGA will organise in Chisinau, for the first time, an International Summit devoted to digital transformation, namely Moldova Digital Summit to bring together, on the same stage, important external partners for building a digital governance ecosystem in the Republic of Moldova. The event will be conducted under the aegis of Deputy Prime-Minister of Digitalisation, Iurie Turcanu. 

 

The campaign schedule also comprises a number of actions aimed at raising public awareness, such as developing, disseminating and promoting actively some sets of materials explaining the future users how to better employ the opportunities offered by the digital community in the form of: tutorials, guidebooks, leaflets, video graphs, info graphs, etc., which would be published on the official web page egov.md, social Media and all communication outlets, including the central and local Media.

 

The campaign partners arepublic and private service providers, ICT associations, local and international partners, Academia, associations of volunteers and young people, the Association of Creative Companies of Moldova, Media entities and digital transformation experts.

 

The Campaign has started today with a set of awareness-raising sessions conducted in partnership with HelpAge International Moldova intended to build knowledge and skills of future digital transformation e-ambassadors, which would advertise electronic public services amongst the older population.
