We launched a new type of authentication for MPass that reduces costs and provides access to the full spectrum of e-services

Today, March 1, the E-Governance Agency launches a new authentication method for the Authentification and Access Service (MPass) - two-step authentication. The new method involves the use of verification codes and excludes the use of mandatory electronic signature at each authentication.
Two-step Authentication is an alternative and secure authentication solution for MPass. Two- Factor Authentication requires a two- step verification process which not only requires a username and password, but also a verification code only the user knows generated by an application installed on their phone or tablet. This process includes two authenticated authentication factors in order to verify that the person requesting access is the person who declares themselves to be.
"Two-Step Authentication adds another security method. This authentication method can easily be discribed as a combination of "something you have and something you know". Another advantage of this authentication method is saving the number of mobile electronic signatures used at the authentication, "said Artur Reaboi, Head of Analysis and Project Unit, E-Governance Agency.
Additionally to the two-step authentication method, were added information pages for each of the four authentication methods with a brief description for each method.
