SOCIAL MEDIA FOR A BETTER COMMUNICATION BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND CITIZENS

Chisinau, September 28, 2011. The first seminar on social media, addressed to government institutions from the Republic of Moldova, took place during September 27-28 in Chisinau. The event was organized by the e-Government Center in partnership with "Moldova Rapid Governance Support Program". The seminar, entitled "Social media and open government", was addressed to communication specialists and e-government coordinators from the ministries and government agencies.
In the wider context of technological modernization of the governance (e-Transformation), participants discussed about the importance communication have within social networks, increasingly active at a national level. All these efforts are designed to strengthen the interaction of state institutions with citizens and to bring government closer to people's needs.
The topics discussed in the course involve social issues such as presentation of social media channels, information environment and audience engagement, social web and online promotion. Moreover, the trainer presented successful practices from other countries activities in social media.
The training was delivered by Michael Cervieri, co-founder of digital communications and mass media technologies company ScribeLabs, consultant to institutions, agencies and NGOs.
