The Open Data Information Campaign "Do You Know What Your Government Is Doing?" was launched

On occasion of the World Open Data Day, celebrated on March 3, 2018, the State Chancellery, the e-Government Center and the Youth 4 Innovation - Foundation for Youth Development launched the national campaign to promote open data, "Do You Know What Your Government Is Doing? ".
The Press Club. was attended by the Government Deputy General Secretary, Adrian Ermurachi, experts from the e-Government, opinion leaders from online and IT communities, representatives of media organizations, NGOs and private sector.
The campaign "Do You Know What Your Government Is Doing?" aims to show the open data benefits and to encourage authorities to provide access to these data, to increase citizens' trust in public institutions. The campaign will take place between March and May 2018 and is dedicated to promoting governmental data among users, capitalizing on available data and stimulating dialogue between the Government and young people, civil society, business and the IT sector. Thus, young people, grouped into heterogeneous teams, will be able to co-create open-data applications to address various social issues such as health and education issues, infrastructure, regional development, etc.
Over the three months, electronic questionnaires will be conducted for journalists, public sector employees, the business community, the community of developers and ICT companies, and general public. Based on the results of the five online surveys, will be identified the themes for the organization of the Open Data Hackathon. An event where about 100 young people from various fields (start-ups, NGOs, journalists, programmers) will work in teams to create applications and concepts on promotion the open data access and use. The most ingenious projects will be awarded.
In parallel, e-Government Center together with State Chancellery will carry out several informational visits at the central public authorities responsible for publishing and ensuring access to open data. The Youth 4 Innovation - Foundation for Youth Development will held information sessions in universities to explain to young people how to access, use and distribute open data by combining with other datasets.
World Day of Open Data is celebrated seven years consecutive, being an initiative of states that want a transparent, efficient and open government for their citizens, developed based on new information technologies.
