e-Government Center becomes e-Governance Agency

The Moldovan Government has approved today, April 25, 2018, the new status of public Institution "e-Governance Agency”, known until now as the Public Institution "e-Government Center".
E-Governance agency will coordinate the implementation of policies on the modernization of government services and the digital transformation of governance, by offering effective solutions to increase the quality of government services and governance.
Key areas under the competence of the Agency refer to the modernization of government services, governance, digital transformation, interoperability of informational systems and cyber security of the e-Governance platforms. The objectives of the institution remain the strategic planning of the use of information technologies in the public sector, the creation and continued development of e-Government architecture, promoting innovation and products in e-Governance in the both public sector and society, the creation and development of methodological framework for re-engineering and digitizing public services.
"In seven years, the Government has conducted e-Transformation projects, identifying a sustainable platform for the modernization of public services and other innovations in Governance. I am convinced that we will succeed together with the team to come up with fresh solutions for a modern and efficient governance, responsive to the needs of citizens with the help of information technology", said Eugeniu Ursu, Executive Director of the e-Governance Agency.
The new amendments provide also the discharge of the common Government technology platform MCloud to the Service information technology and cyber security previously named as the State Enterprise "Center for Special Telecommunications ".
Thus, the service will take over the MCloud platform and will expand it by consolidating existing data centres. In cooperation with the public authorities who hold information systems, the Service will provide the systems migration on the platform will retrieve their maintenance and technical administration, applying unified administration procedures and ensuring the quality and support for the users.
From 2011 until now e-Government Center has successfully carried out over 40 e-Transformation projects. Main beneficiaries being citizens and visitors of the Republic of Moldova, public institutions and businesses.
