A new information service titled Permits has been added to the Module "Data with public access" on the Government Data Portal www.date.gov.md. The new option has been added to the existing options “Search for a Legal Person” and “Legal Person's Data” and enables users to freely and directly search for public information about permits issued to companies, view them easily, and use them free of charge for their own purposes.

Along with the other modules, the new information service "Permits" is a dynamic resource, intended for all those interested in participating in the decision-making process and in helping to promote transparency, productivity and accountability in the public sector.

Public data about companies, including data on permits, are accessible without any limit to any person and are displayed in accordance with the provisions of Art. 341, para. (2), of the Law no. 220/2007 on state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs and Art. 4, para. (6), of the Law no. 160/2011 on the regulation through authorization of entrepreneurial activity.

A permit is a document or statement by which the issuing authority ascertains certain legal facts and the compliance with certain legal requirements, certifying the applicant's endowment with a number of rights and obligations to start, conduct and/or terminate a business activity or actions related to and indispensable for such activity. There are 32 authorities issuing permits in the Republic of Moldova.

Starting with 2018, entrepreneurs can request and receive permits online through the Automated Information System for Issuing and Managing Permits. This allows for the beneficiaries' convenience, simplicity and transparency in the process of requesting and receiving permits by accessing the Government Services Portal servicii.gov.md.
